That wretched cat of mine just managed to step on my mouse, erasing everything I had typed so far _and_ managed to type a couple letters so I couldn't just use the "undo" function. I swear, sometimes I think she's smarter than she lets on.
We went on a lighting spree today. We bought new lights to replace the non-functioning security light on the back deck as well as the light above the kitchen sink. And then we got a ceiling fan/light to replace the horribly inadequate fluorescent kitchen light as well as a hanging lamp to go over the main worktable in the kitchen.
The kitchen is very very bright now. Unfortunately, that means I can now see how dirty the kitchen floor is, which means I'm going to have to mop it tomorrow. But I suppose the ability to actually see what we're doing in the kitchen is worth giving up our slothful ways.
Tomorrow, I think I'll attack our study (aka, The Paper Pit). I've come to the conclusion that I could probably start throwing away all of our old 3 1/2 disks with things on them like DOS 6.2 and Microsoft Word 2.0 (although I rather miss good old Word 2.0 - it was so simple and easy to use, and almost never tried to brainwash me into using its bizarre notion of English). I hope they'll go quietly and not try to gang up on me with the piles of defunct electronics and tangled cables. But their puny 1.44 MB are no match against me. After all, I have a computer science degree. And a Master's Degree - in Science!
