Yawn, part deux
Jul. 16th, 2005 08:38 pmIt occurred to me today that I spend an absurd amount of time waiting for the small creatures in my house to fall asleep so I can trim their nails. First the cats (note to Bunter: I'm coming after you and your Talons of Doom, whether you like it or not - I'm not especially fond of being perforated because you're feeling lovey and want to knead), now K. How can such teensy nails be so soft and yet so sharp at the same time?
So I wonder how much of fandom is now sleeping off Harry Potter induced sleep deprivation? I would like to be one of them, but Tapeworm Girl has decided she must once again eat for the twelve billionth time today. I'm actually only about a third of the way through the book - it was foolish enough to stay up until 2 last night to read the first three chapters, given that K often wakes up at 7, I didn't possibly have the stamina to pull an all-nighter. And I've been reading steadily today, but I often need both of my hands to tend Her Highness, so I haven't gotten as far as I would like.

longstrider wound up going to get it at Meijer, of all places. We probably wouldn't have gotten it at midnight, except that the price was so fantastic ($3 cheaper than Borders or B&N) that I was afraid they would sell out if we waited until morning. And it was a good thing we did, because we wound up getting the books even cheaper, because we got two coupons for $10 off a $50 purchase, one to be used that night and one we can use whenever. Well! We have a newborn in disposable diapers, we can spend $50 at a grocery store without breaking a sweat. So longstrider came home with two copiess of the book, plus $20 of needed groceries. So buy two books for $30 to receive $20 off on groceries we were going to buy anyway? Sounds like a good deal to me.
Off to read more now.
