It's been very cold today. I wasn't quite prepared to go from a weekend when we didn't always bother to go out with coats on to wind and snow today. It's a bit of a relief to finally have seasonal weather though. It's hard enough for me to keep track of what month it is without September weather in November.
Not such a relief when I received a letter from our gas company today though. The triple-damned money-grubbing leeches are raising our budget bill amount by $26, which means our gas bill is now over $100 a month. They claim this is so we don't get hit with a significant increase in our budget bill next year. I'm failing to see how a significant increase this year will really improve the situation - at least getting it next year means we can put the expense off. Not to mention do things this year to try and reduce our gas use. We got a space heater for the bedroom a while ago to solve the cold baby problem. I think we may need to invest in another so we can keep the heat in the house low during the day and just heat whatever room we're in.
The cats have been trying to colonize my lap all day. Unfortunately, my lap has generally already been claimed by a sleeping baby, so I've been getting a lot of cats gingerly trying to pick their way along my legs and start to step on the baby, only to realize they're touching that thing.
Since I just realized that the state of our house is no longer bothering me, not because I've succeeding in cleaning up but because I'm finally too tired to care, I should hie me to bed so our horrendous clutter can start aggravating me again.
