The Eagle has landed
Dec. 6th, 2005 03:56 pmYesterday morning, K woke up and smiled at me and I saw what looked like a tooth, surprisingly tall for something that hadn't been visible the previous night. Then I saw it moving when her tongue brushed it and had a moment of panic that it was somehow loose, or bizarrely floppy. But I pulled myself together and told myself that if she had mutant floppy teeth, they couldn't possibly cut through her gums. And the faux tooth was, in fact, a flap of gum pushed up by the impending tooth. No wonder she was so cranky (and may I add, ew).
This morning, she woke up and smiled and the flap was gone, thank goodness. And nestled in her lower gum was what had only taken twelve years of drooling and screaming to work its way through.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a tooth.
