(no subject)

Jeepers, it was hot out yesterday. And our air conditioning decided to show an inimitable flair for timing by conking out at some unknown point in the night, or possibly the day before. I didn't notice for quite a while because the furnace was still faithfully belting out air that was coolish, but when I realized I was a bit too warm and that the temperature on the thermostat had been four degrees above what we set it to all day, I thought something must be up. So I went outside and lo! Our air conditioner was doing its best Beetle Bailey impression and lying down on the job.

Thankfully, a quick call to the landlord got repairmen out with dispatch, and K and I spent the rest of the afternoon basking in a lovely Arctic breeze. We went walking to the post office and playground yesterday morning, but yesterday afternoon's heat called for indoor activities, as it wasn't fit for person nor beast. Nor toddler, who is often a combination of the two.
