Finally.

It took us nearly 32 hours to make it home in what should have been approximately a five hour journey. We could have driven home in that amount of time. Heck, it's possible that we could have walked to Chicago, which was the bottleneck in our journey. We didn't make our 8pm flight Monday night because of bad weather in Chicago, which made our flight so late that we never would have caught our connection to Philly. So we rebooked for Tuesday afternoon and called my mother to come pick us up. Tuesday, we went to the airport to discover that our flight from Chicago to Philly, which would have gotten us here at 7, was cancelled and we were now on a flight scheduled to get us here at midnight. We also went from a 2 hour layover to a six hour layover. Although that turned out to be not such a bad thing when our airplane to Chicago developed mechanical problems and we wound up waiting three hours in the Grand Rapids airport for our flight to Chicago. Once in Chicago, with now a mere three hour layover, we were then treated to a one hour delay. In the meantime, we whiled away the time by discovering the four other flights to Philadelphia offered by our airline that all would have had us home much earlier than when we got home at 1am Wednesday morning.

Suffice to say, we are not pleased with our travelling experience.

The quality of my day today can be summed up thusly: well, at least K didn't poop in the bathtub.

(In case your curiosity is stronger than your revulsion, it was on the bathmat. Not as bad as it could have been, although the tile would have been even better)
