Nov. 27th, 2007 09:42 pmPoor K was rather punky this evening. She had a pretty good day, then completely refused dinner and first cuddled with her father, then lay listlessly on the floor staring vacantly at the tv. The thermometer got up to 101.5 before she refused to keep it under her arm any more (the reason I went out tonight to get an ear thermometer). So we gave her ibuprofen and I wrapped her in her dragon blanket and rocked her to sleep. I hope she feels better in the morning and that she didn't pass it on to us. At the moment, I'm feeling kind of tired, headachy and generally body achy, which I'm hoping is psychosomatic.
I got my invitation to join Ravelry, a supremely cool knitting and crochet community. Sadly, I can't show you its supreme coolness because it's still in beta and only available to invited members. But just trust me, it's great. It's sort of a combination of an online place to keep track of your knitting projects and yarn stash, and a community where you can share and search for patterns, look at other people's finished projects and chat with other yarn crafters. Highly addictive, and I shouldn't be spending so much time there since I have work to do tonight. But it's much more fun to think about new projects than to make the same patterns I've done twelve million times now. I'd much rather be starting on a sweater for K, or sew another prototype for my experimental diaper pattern or sew K some doll clothes and diapers for Christmas or even work on the baby blanket I'm making on my mother's behalf, which is small but remarkably punishing because of the cheeaaaapp yarn she bought for it that is so acrylic that it actually feels like you're knitting plastic. Red Heart Super Saver, feh.
Must get to work now, once I manage to overpower the contentment rays Sonya is emitting at a superstrong frequency so I don't kick her off of my lap.
