Periodically, I've heard people discuss what sort of superpower they would want if they could have them. Invisibility, flight, superstrength, prehensile dreadlocks - the possibilities are endless. I've never really been able to settle on what I would want because of that. But now I know what power I would want.

Telekinesis. I really really wish I were telekinetic.

Because there are days when I'm holding a fussy baby and the only way she'll settle is if one of my fingers is in her mouth for her to suck (because a pacifier just won't cut it - only the taste of human flesh will pacify my little cannibal) and my other hand pat-pat-patting her back, thankyouverymuch. And while I sit there doing that, I can't do anything else, like turn the page or scroll down the computer screen past the text I've read ten times, or reach the remote as Iron Chef America ends and oh no, Emeril is coming on and OH MY GOD THE HUMANITY!!!

So yeah. Telekinesis. That would be just boffo. Because it would be much nicer than having my head explode.
