Insomnia really sucks. Insomnia for the past three weeks really really sucks. Since I'm not uncomfortable in bed (at 25 weeks, I can even still sleep on my stomach), don't have to pee frequently and am not keeping myself awake stressing about things, I can only assume that the reason I sleep fitfully for about five hours every night only to wake up and toss and turn for a couple hours until I can get a little more sleep in before I have to get up is entirely due to hormones. I've tried Benadryl, but while I sleep a bit better, I just spend the next day groggy, which isn't much of an improvement. I'm starting to think I might have to ask the doctor for something more effective like Ambien (I know several pregnant women who've taken it, so it shouldn't be too bad) when I have my next appointment on Tuesday. I don't want to hurt the baby with any medications, but frankly, it wouldn't be any good for the baby for me to fall asleep while driving either.

Meanwhile, I'm permanently zombified. I stumble around, looking for spare brains to replace the ones I used to have that melted out my ears a couple weeks ago. I bowed out of attic-painting this weekend in favor of activities I could do sitting down. As a result, the attic currently has about half a coat of primer.

But we were actually saved today in the form of bad news and good news. The bad news is that a band of bad weather is coming through tomorrow, forcing [livejournal.com profile] longstrider's parents to stay here until Wednesday instead of just staying one night and leaving tomorrow. The good news is that they're going to spend their two days here painting the attic! We didn't even have to put them up to it, I swear. Every time they visit, they like to fill their time by doing things around the house and yard. Since we have both housework and yardwork in spades, so I certainly would never try to stop them.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go attempt to sleep and hope that maybe tomorrow I'll recover a few points of my IQ and the ability to type properly.
